Evaluations
As an approved Expert Witness for The State of New Jersey Public Defender’s Office, I have extensive experience in completing defensible and proficient Substance Abuse Evaluations. I have experience with being Court Appointed to complete Substance Abuse Evaluations for Criminal and Family Court matters, and Custody Neutral Assessments for Family Court matters. Services extend to clients represented by Private Counsel. When subpoenaed to testify, several Judges have upheld the recommendations of my evaluations. Substance Abuse Evaluations are also provided for school involved matters.
References for Substance Abuse Evaluations includes utilizing the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Placement Criteria 3rd Edition, the Comprehensive Addictions and Psychological Evaluation (CAAPE-5), Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revised (DSM-5-TR). Research is also drawn upon to assist in rendering accurate conclusions. Methodology includes a 3 to 4 hour in-person clinical interview, drug testing, collateral records review of medical, psychiatric, treatment, and/or Court documents, any documents deemed relevant, and interviews with friends and family.
